ABOUT OUR CHAPTER: OUR TAX STATUS Funeral Consumers Alliance of the Piedmont is pleased to say that our application for tax exempt status has been approved. We received our notification on May 29, 2009 but in fact, the effective date of exemption is July 14, 2008. We are now exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Furthermore, contributions to Funeral Consumers Alliance of the Piedmont are deductible under section 170 of the code and we are also qualified to receive tax deductable bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the code.
